“When I didn’t understand something, I gathered up the words scattered at my feet, and lined them up into sentences. If that didn’t help, I’d scatter them again, rearrange them in a different order. Repeat that a number of times, and I was able to think about things like most people.” ~ Sumire, from Sputnik Sweetheart
I can’t say that I’ve always known that I’ll be a writer. It’s just that, over the years, I found that I express myself best with words. I like writing enough to do a lot of it for my studies, work, and this website.
To write is to think.
Who am I?
I am Ying Yi, and I hail from Singapore.
Professionally, I’m a content marketer. It’s a job that involves a lot of writing, so I get to do what I enjoy and get paid for it. My main focus is the business-to-business (B2B) technology world. I like the challenge of taking complex topics and writing about them in a crisp and concise way.
Personally, I blog here, on my personal website. I write about creativity, my personal growth journey, and things that inspire me.
If you are new here, I suggest starting with my “birthday” blog posts.
I am also an artist
My other love is anime-style drawing.
I’ve been drawing on and off since I was little. In 2017, I decided to be serious about it. I draw (almost!) every day: gestures, faces, anatomy studies, etc. My goal is to be as good as the professional illustrators I admire and respect. Drawing has helped me in so many ways; I’d even say that it helped to save my life.
