Wait, what? So soon?
There’s still so much of life to explore and savour!
But OK, if I had to go, I’d go without major regrets.
That’s because at this stage, I’m proud of how far I have come in life. It hasn’t been smooth-sailing, no way! But I am heartened, knowing that in recent years, I …
… began pursuing a life of creativity, knowledge, and meaning.
… realised that I have much more strength, courage, and nimbleness than I thought I had.
… overcame daunting obstacles and heartache, to become who I am today.
… appreciated what it is like to love and be loved.
… traveled and experienced many cultures and places from around the world.
I haven’t achieved any great things yet. Still a work in progress (is there even a finishing point?). But I take pride in knowing that I have learnt, laughed, and lived as intensely as I could.
Oh, and touched hearts along the way, too 😊
I started. I came this far.
For now, all I want to say is: I am happy.
This post was inspired by a Dec 2017 New York Times article, in which prominent people from various fields were asked what their last message would be if the world was ending. I like Jane Goodall’s answer best.
The world will continue into 2018, of course, and hopefully for millennia to come. Thanks for sticking with me, I’ll be back with more posts in 2018.
Happy New Year!
